Generating Organic Geometry.
Origin Point
Overview
The Toledo Museum of Art presented Hannah Bowlus's: Origin Point, an exhibition exploring geometric relationships between cube and sphere through glass sculpture, lighting, and furniture. The design and creative team developed the exhibition’s visual identity and promotional collateral, including digital assets, print materials, and spatial elements aligned with the museum’s brand standards.
Design
The exhibition’s visual system draws from 1960s space age industrial design and mathematical engineering aesthetics, creating a structured counterpoint to the organic glass, LEDs, and sculptural forms. Custom rounded square typography, a white to orange gradient title wall, and a modular grid of metallic grey rectangles establish a retro futuristic identity that frames didactic text and anchors the spatial experience. This visual language extends into the interactive gallery through CAD inspired line work and mono type typography, forming a cohesive framework that allows the artwork to remain the focal point.
